I am planning on buying a John Deere 790 tractor. I can get it for $8900.00 brand new. It's a 2wd, 27 h.p. without PS. Is this a good price? What are pros & cons of this tractor. Does anyone know if I can have PS added to it aftermarket? Thanks for help. This will be my first Deere!

Seems reasonable. The way I look at it you get a brand new JD with 27hp for less than 9000k you are doing good. Plus you will know the history of the tractor from new and it will last you forever. Now another way to look at it for a little over 2000k you can get it with PS and 4wd--better resale and loader friendly. But 2000k + or- is a lot of money and could buy some much needed implements. ....
